This is long overdue. Time just seems to be flying to fast. Most, I believe all of you know that shortly after my last blog we bought a new home and moved. Since then life has not slowed down. I am just now feeling like, ok I can do this, I am getting things under control. Thankyou for the phonecalls and inquiries about what has been happening to our family. There has just been no time to keep up with everyone.
We moved shortly before Christmas and feel like we are finally getting settled in. We love our home, neighborhood, and new ward. If you all watched conference then you now know what church building we attend. A member of the General Authorities talked about growing up in Mapleton and shared a picture of his white church he attended. That would be where we attend currently. This won't be for long as a new building will be built in our neighborhood and I am sure that's where we will go. Dave and I have been called into the Primary as the 7-8 yr old teachers. Isaac is in our class and loves his teachers!!!! As well I, Lis, have been called to be the Visiting Teaching Coordinator for the Relief Society and Dave has been called as the Scout Committee Chairman for the ward. There are over 42 young men in out ward. There were 15 Eagle scouts last year and 12 Eagles on track for this year. The ward has felt very safe in making sure we stay busy!! Our new home is one of 20-30 new homes in a new developement with approximately 470 more homes to be built. I like the openess right now and not really having neighbors, but of course that will change. The developement has parks and paths planned as well as a big recreational center with a clubhouse, swimming pool, exercise room, tennis courts, basketball courts and more planned. We hope they start construction soon! We like it out here and are glad that we made this move. We have watched opportunities arise here for out kids to grow and learn things they just wouldn't have in the town home.
The kids have adjusted well to school and life in a new place. Isaac and Katie are doing well in school and are growing like weeds. William and Alexis seem to be growing so fast as well. We just celebrated Williams 3rd birthday and tomorrow will celebrate Katies 6th birthday. They continue to delight us and challenge us. We took the kids out of school in February and went to San Diego for a week. What a fun timeD! I will post pictures and a separate blog later just about our trip.
One of the coolest things to happen to our family happened in January. My brother and his family moved here from Oregon, and a week later my mom followed. We are so excited to now have family here, so close. We know only need to work on Dave's parents and then we will be complete. We have enjoyed lots of fun times together already and look forward to more. We love all of you and send you our best wishes.
